My expectations from you & yours from me
What I Expect from you
Bringing home one of our kittens means welcoming a member of our family into yours. My expectations are simple: that every Carroll Maine Coon continues to receive the same love, safety, and quality of care they have known here.
A Safe, Loving Home
Your kitten should be treated as a lifelong family member and provided with a safe, clean, loving home where their physical and emotional needs are met.
Excellent Veterinary Care
I expect you to establish care with a licensed veterinarian and continue appropriate preventative and routine veterinary care throughout your cat's life.
Proper Nutrition & Healthy Living
Maine Coons are large, slow-maturing cats with unique nutritional needs. I ask that you provide a high-quality, age-appropriate diet, fresh water, regular grooming, exercise, enrichment, and appropriate weight management.
Protection From Preventable Risks
Your kitten's health and safety should always come first. Please provide a secure living environment and avoid unnecessary exposure to hazards, contagious illnesses, and unsafe situations.
Spay/Neuter Agreement
Kittens sold as pets are placed with a spay/neuter agreement. Unless breeding rights have been specifically granted in writing, your kitten may not be used for breeding.
No Declawing
Carroll Maine Coons may not be surgically declawed for convenience. Appropriate scratching surfaces, routine nail care, and positive training should be used instead.
Keep Me in the Loop
I genuinely want to know how my kittens are doing! I love updates, pictures, milestones, and watching them grow. More importantly, if a significant health concern arises—especially one that could have a hereditary component—I ask that you contact me.
A Home for Life
I understand that life circumstances can change. If you are ever unable to continue caring for your Carroll Maine Coon, please contact me. I never want one of my kittens surrendered to a shelter, rescue, abandoned, or placed in an unsafe situation.
Above all, I expect you to love them for their entire life—not just while they're a tiny, fluffy kitten. ♡
What You Can Expect From Me
When you choose a Carroll Maine Coon, you're trusting me with something incredibly important. I take that responsibility seriously. My commitment to you begins long before your kitten goes home—and it doesn't end on pickup day.
Health-Conscious Breeding
I carefully select my breeding cats with health, temperament, and the future of the Maine Coon breed in mind. Our breeding program includes genetic/DNA testing, cardiac screening for HCM, orthopedic screening, and routine veterinary care.
Veterinary Care Before Going Home
Your kitten will receive age-appropriate veterinary care before leaving our cattery, including vaccinations, parasite prevention/testing, microchipping, and other care outlined in our kitten contract and health records.
A Well-Socialized Kitten
Our kittens are raised as part of our family—not simply housed until they're old enough to leave. They receive daily handling, affection, play, enrichment, and exposure to normal household life as they grow.
Transparency
I will be open with you about your kitten's health, development, personality, and any concerns that arise while they are in my care. I will never knowingly hide a health problem from a family.
Health Guarantee
Every kitten goes home with the health protections outlined in our kitten contract. You'll have the opportunity to review the complete contract before making your final commitment.
Records & Registration
You'll receive your kitten's applicable veterinary records, microchip information, registration paperwork, and other important go-home documentation.
Support Before & After Go-Home Day
Questions are welcome. Whether you're preparing for your kitten, figuring out food, grooming your first Maine Coon, or wondering whether something your giant furry toddler is doing is normal, you can reach out to me.
A Breeder Who Wants to Stay Connected
I don't want our relationship to end when you drive away with your kitten. I love seeing updates and watching the kittens I raised become part of their families.
Most importantly, you can expect me to care about the kitten I place with you for their entire life.
Healthy. Happy. Loved. That's my goal while they're here—and what I hope we continue together once they're home.
